Marubeni Techno-Systems Corporation (hereinafter "the Company") announces that it has begun supplying electricity derived from virtually renewable energy sources using tracked non-fossil certificates at the OVOL Nihonbashi Building, where its headquarters office is located, in cooperation with Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. This is based on the Marubeni Group's "Long-Term Vision on Climate Change."
1. Background and Purpose of Implementation
The Marubeni Group has formulated a "Long-Term Vision on Climate Change" aiming for net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 and is working on climate change measures across the entire group. As part of this effort, the Company will promote the reduction of CO2 emissions in its business activities by switching the electricity used at its headquarters office to virtually renewable energy sources.
2. Overview of Tracked Non-Fossil Certificate Electricity
The electricity being introduced is a combination of power supplied from specific renewable energy power plants and "tracked non-fossil certificates" that certify the environmental value of those power plants. Information such as the location and generation method of the power plants is clearly identified, enabling the procurement of renewable energy with higher transparency.
Implementation location: OVOL Nihonbashi Building
Start date: April 2025
CO2 reduction effect: Virtually zero CO2 emissions for the total amount of electricity used at the headquarters
